What I’d do if I had to start my health journey all over…
(None have anything to do with diet or exercise)
Chronic digestive issues, auto-immune disease, monster cravings, addiction, depression and ZERO clue…
Here’s what I’d tell me if I was starting from scratch
“I’m just tired”…
I hear it time and time again.
Incredible women on the edge of burn out.
Trying to...
✔️ do it all
✔️ be it all
✔️ have it all
But never stopping to understand where their exhaustion might be coming from. 🥱
Bc maybe it’s a lack of sleep...
just maybe.
But maybe it’s actually something else...
- Overwhelm?
- Financial stress?
- Relationship woes?
- Not fueling your body correctly?
- Feeling burdened?
- Uninspired?
- Lacking purpose?
- Disconnected from source?
- Not keeping your promises to yourself?
- Your gut bugs screwing with your happiness hormones?
- Too much screen time?
- The fact that you haven’t worked out in a month?
Constantly living in the past/future is soul-sucking; a sure-fire way to bog your mind down w/ anxiety + depression.
And you guessed it - feel 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙.
So often, we get so caught up in chasing the dream life, that we forget to fully live the life we have right in front of us.
... So hung up on our body, that we don’t appreciate it for what it can truly do.
... So focused on supporting loved ones, that we forget to support our own dreams.
... So obsessed with being perfect, that we fail to embrace our beautiful authentic selves.
👉🏼 Focusing on the present + what you CAN control...
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀.
If this is you, my suggestion would be to journal, explore the depths of your psyche + identify where you’re struggling in other areas of your life.
And see if, just maybe, you can rekindle that fire under your ass with a solution to that problem you’ve been ignoring for too long.

My, magic pill, my secret weapon… my happy place.
Yoga is so much more than just exercise for me.
It’s the thing that challenges me, calms me + helps me change my thought patterns.
It’s the thing that guided me through my depression after graduating college in the midst of a recession.
And years later when I was struggling to figure out my purpose in life.
And again when I was deep in my grief after my husband died.
I’ve done it for 15 years now off + on and I’m still not great at it.
But I keep coming back to the mat, time after time…
To willfully sit in discomfort.
To practice patience.
To observe my mind.
To calm my nerves.
To set my intentions.
To gain flexibility.
To work out the kinks (mentally + physically).
To stretch.
To gain strength.
To meditate.
To learn.
To grow.
To feel.
To breathe.
And to find a little bit of peace in this crazy world.
I continue with this practice bc it makes me a better human for myself + everyone around me.
And I think literally 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 can benefit from it.
I look at this video and I see my rounded back, my droopy arm + the shorts that I definitely cut too short on one side.
But I also see the flexibility I gained.
(Remember those fitness tests in school? Well, I was about one whole foot away from reaching my toes. 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸.)
I see tranquility in my mind + my heart.
I see the principles of yoga that have softened me.
... and helped me find space between my triggers + my reactions.
And connects me w/ my highest self.
Yoga isn’t easy.
It’s frustrating, uncomfortable + illuminates 𝘢𝘭𝘭 your weaknesses.
But such is LIFE.
And yoga gives you the most applicable tools for dealing with the inevitable ups + downs.
I don’t do yoga bc I’m at peace.
I do yoga bc it brings me peace.
And I invite you to do the same.

The deadly mistake you’re making in your health journey... ☠️
You’re eating “healthy”, you’re getting your steps in and doing “all the right things”
… but you’re still bloated, rarely pooping, feeling sluggish and moody, getting headaches, craving another cup of coffee or afternoon sugar fix & not seeing the results you want. 😵

So how can we ensure we’re actually hydrating our body properly? 🧊
Let me introduce you to this simple way to calculate the right amount of water FOR YOUR BODY…
🚰 HYDRATION EQUATION🚰
- Ounces of diuretics you consume ✖️1.5 =
- Ounces of alcohol you drink ✖️1.5 =
- How much you weigh➗ 2 =
Now add that all together + more if you are working out and/or smoking.
📈 That is the minimum amount of ounces of water you should be drinking in a day to stay hydrated.
For example:
If I weigh 125 lbs, I drink 20 oz of coffee and 8 oz of tea each day, I should be drinking a MINIMUM of 105oz of water per day, not including the amount of exercise I do or my extra-curricular activities. 😜
If you aren’t drinking a minimum of this 👆🏼amount in hydrating fluids everyday...
Your body could be shutting down on you.
Caffeinated + sweet beverages flush your body removing necessary minerals along the way.
So even though you may be peeing clear and/or all the time...
Your cells aren’t receiving the hydration you need. 🥵
Drinking filtered water with a tiny punch of sea salt will pump those cells back to life and get your body movin and groovin again!
